Choir and Retro-Choir

The crossing under the central tower has four piers, flattened on the inner sides, dating from the fourteenth century. Suspended here is the great brass candelabrum given by a brewer's widow and inscribed:

"The Gift of Dorothye relict of Jno. Applebye Esqe to ye Parish Church of St Saviour Southwarke 1680".
